Door window frame anchor broken
« on: Tuesday,December 20, 2016, 06:17:57 PM »
Has anyone found a good fix for the below?

In striping the doors down I found the aluminium anchor has at some point split (see pic)

any idea on a fix? apart from a full strip down.

cheers,

I have the same issue, both doors.   I was going to have new tabs welded on.
Any other suggestions?

a good quality bonded joint may work. going to try that on one of mine. Make up a new anchor, grind off carefully the old weld. not sure yet what bond agent to use yet, but it should work ok on well prepared surfaces.

I fabricated a small "splint" to support the tab and used liquid steel to bond the break...ld
