What wrench for CD-175 float needle valve ?
« on: Thursday,October 17, 2024, 06:32:35 PM »
What size is the darned CD-175 float needle valve wrench supposed to be? I don’t have a metric or standard wrench that fits well  I am using a 14mm with a shim I made to fit it…. It seems I need a 17/32 ?

One of my 13mm's measure .515", other is .520". Looser than my 1/2" wrenches.  I just use adjustable on my rear upper arms and AN fittings. Nothing ever fits them good.

I will modify a wrench to fit …

I have had to bend and modify various tools to fit difficult to access nuts and bolts all over the car.

Modification includes making spanners (wrenches) wider or thinner.

I have even bought 5/16" UNF bolts which have 13mm heads, and not 1/2" heads as you would expect.

It's a 5/16BS IIRC.

I can confirm it's a 5/16 BS. Thanks John, and to the OP for the timely post. That would have driven me nuts.
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

What the heck is that?

I didn’t think there were any Whitworth fasteners on these cars
