Autocross in car video
« on: Monday,September 23, 2024, 04:53:01 AM »
Phoenix region SCCA Solo season started yesterday. There is no motorsports anything in our summer.

The only change I made was stiffer front springs from 400 to 650 lbs. Surprisingly the springs are not much stiffer on the street.  My passenger was a 230lb friend that helped put more weight forward. The back didn't come out unless off the throttle and turning. Previously, slaloms or a mid corner lift would end in a spin I couldn't catch half the time. I just need to stop fearing the instant spin limit now.

This run is 17th fastest out of 144 cars. I am the only E Mod car so I have no class competition.
Second gear start.

Nice clean run! Were there any D Modified cars? How did you do against them?

D Mod, yes an Elan. He always gets top time, 4 second faster than me. I'm only in E Mod because of engine and frame mods. I am at minimum weight but way under tired. The Elan is a national level car on full  Hoosier slicks. He's running a Lotus twin cam dyno'd at 200hp. There was another Elan with a Zetec with 265hp.  Just as wild and fast.

I'm not on the same level as some of these people and never will be. The top times are always national winning drivers in what ever they are in. The guy parked behind me has a 2016 GT3 RS, one of two RS's there. He said he let Brian Peters, (national champ guy) drive and was 4 seconds faster. We agreed, they are just wired different.
