1974 Lotus Europa Special 5 Speed
I bought this car from a family that owned the car for the last 46 years. It was purchased by them in 1978 from the original owner. Originally a California car, it was brought to Seattle in 1988, and put into storage. Fast forward about 35 years, and the car was taken out of storage and recommissioned in 2023. Last licensed in 1988, it has 66,850 original miles.
The engine starts right up from cold, and has good oil pressure. The brake boosters have been removed and bypassed, and the brakes work as they should.
The Lagoon Blue paint is presentable, and looks to be mostly original. There are some stress cracks and paint chips here and there, but overall, it looks pretty good for 50 year old paint.
The interior is oatmeal (beige) in color and in very good condition. The wooden dash is not cracked, the varnish is not peeling, and the crash pad does not have any cracks. The seats and upholstery are in good condition.
This car is a time capsule, and is almost 100% original (except for the removal of the brake boosters). It still has all the original emission control equipment installed, and everything is stock. The brake boosters have been removed, because they always end up leaking.
