Happy Independence Day to all the colonialists (New World colonialists)!!

I would not be surprised if some of our Brit cousins might be glad to be done with us so they might be happy about today in retrospect!

In the UK we have a General Election today, so a lot of people want to emulate Guy Fawkes over here, and others want to divorce their country from the UK parliament.

So since 1776, the feelings about being ruled from afar have not changed much.

There are some over here who view Washington DC as worse than 18th Century London in that respect.

Take care, they did not treat Guy Fawkes very well when he filled the basement below the Houses of Parliament with barrels on gunpowder.

I believe he was hung, drawn and quartered, which is not recommended for a peaceful demise.
