I've just joined up because I'm currently restoring a Carnival red 1971 S2 0285P. I'm based in the UK Midlands.

I bought the car fully stripped but mostly complete after the 2 previous owners were unable to do the work. The plan is to do a full restoration back to as close to original as possible but with some period tuning to the engine (Hermes / Else type spec).

So far I've restored the chassis which was rotted out at the front which meant reverse engineering the steelwork to get it laser cut and folded. It's now back together and has been blasted, zinc powder coated and finished in satin black.

I've also stripped and rebuilt the gearbox and I'm part way through doing the engine.

Still plenty to do but I'm chipping away at it when time allows.

Great stuff, richy66!! While you're working with the frame, I'd advise you to make the hole in the front of the 'T' for the steering column to be as large as you can make it. You'll thank yourself when you hook the steering column to the steering rack and even more if you have to take the steering rack off again!!

    Really nice fabrication of the front end 
  You have a un molested body their to suit. Try to keep it that way, it will speed up the build process. I'll be posting some pics of the advantages of adding a veil to the original body. This is about your build so I'll jump off, but in a thread call painting again I add a layer of synthetic veil to the polyester, to hide the fibers from bleeding through to the finish.
