Where are the performance builders getting TS timing chains?
« on: Tuesday,February 13, 2024, 12:43:16 AM »
My engine build has taken too long, I no longer recall where the new timing chain came from.
But after opening the package it is scrap to me, I never use a timing chain with a master link in it.
Did not expect to find that, the old one did not have a fail-link.
Engine is a Cross-Flow/17TS.
Cheap timing chain is now the last component preventing reassembly.
Looking for a source for the best available timing chain.

Only if I want to buy the whole set again.
I already bought the gears and tensioner.
Adjustable cam gear.

I recall buying a "Renold" brand chain, but I don't remember if it was a link type or not.

Living in the antipodes, I likely procured it from a bearing supply or a power transmission outfit. I've generally had luck with these sorts of suppliers and they often have catalogues from all sorts of OEM suppliers.

Salv Sacco is sending me an "Endless" chain.
I have no idea where it was made.
Naturally not going to put my old chain on new sprockets.
