Seat bottom rubber suspension grid - available?
« on: Tuesday,June 06, 2023, 05:56:36 AM »
Hi:

The diamond-shaped grid under my passenger seat is toast. And my searches have come up empty. Are they available, or do people just put some foam in there to support the cushion?

Thanks,

Ron

The interior shop that did my seats replaced that rubber grid with canvas webbing.

When I re-upholstered my seats I cut out some 6mm ply and riveted it on to where the webbing
would have been. There is a little flex as the ply is not too thick, it's comfortable.

But, you can get chair webbing and fix it to the frame if you prefer.

Thanks RafM - I actually have some of that on hand and will use it.  Good, cheap solution!

Don't forget to use washers under the bolt/screw/rivet head to clamp down on the webbing so it doesn't pull out...as well as under the nut (or tail of the rivet)...;)  Just thought I'd throw that out there....
