Warneford intakes history?

Curious about the Warneford intake on the red car I tried to look them up.
Most common hit is that a pilot named Warneford managed to bomb a dirigible during WW1.
But virtually nothing about the manufacturer despite their apparently making manifolds for a wide variety of cars.
Anyone able to guide me to some useful history?

I know nothing about this aside from what I had read here. Warnerford sounded off. Do you mean Warneford, minus the ‘r’? Google mentions Jaguar manifolds, if nothing else.

I saw mention of manifolds for Jaguar, Holden, Ford but nothing on their history and current state.

Yes, Warneford were around since the year dot when hot rods were first popular.

My foggy wet noodle can't help much with the history but I thought Redline bought out the Warneford moulds? Then again it could be John Cain's manifolds were part of the story because he apparently did castings for a number of manufacturers back in the day.

I am going to guess that no one is doing single DCOE for Wedge-Head Renault today.
Thinking this intake should be accepted as "In period".

Maybe not today, but Else and Warneford were two big (or relatively so) back In The Day(tm).  Nice catch.

I have one of these Warneford intake manifolds. I scanned it and plan to make a copy eventually...

Does yours have the water ports, I assume for more even intake temps?
Also a threaded port in each top side, vacuum signal or possibly means to balance the runners a bit.
I will try to get a pic in the AM.

Yes it does have two vacuum ports and two threaded holes on that center section. I had not modeled that portion of it up yet, but I suppose I should!

So it seems the water heated center was an anti-icing measure.
Which makes sense as Renault were heavily into Rally Racing and a lot of the venues were COLD!
