My dream and one reason I went to engineering school was to build my own race car and race it (a la Jim Hall). I never had his money or brains, but I digress.
This video came up on my youtube feed. I was going to ignore it. Then I thought I'd watch a few minutes but I couldn't stop. This guy built his own GT40 replica! (I would have made a Chaparral 2F - without the wing - but that's neither here nor there). Take a look here (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22LDGtYT9rk). He did an amazing job! It took him 4000 hours over four years! I probably wouldn't have had the patience (or smarts) of this guy either!
He has a channel with other videos about his GT40 project as well as some other projects here (
https://www.youtube.com/c/BenjaminWorkshop/videos). He is on Instagram, Facebook, etc. but he doesn't have his own website unfortunately. Also unfortunately, this guy is French so it might be difficult to get a whole lot of information about his project unless you know your French (I forgot my French long before I forgot most of my engineering!). Some of the commenters apparently know some of the story so you can get some information from them.
Enjoy!
