I haven't had it apart, as I don't sense any issue with it.  I'm only replacing the boots and having an initial in-person look at it.  Nothing like seeing it for real.  I'm glad to see that it's greased.  Not everything on the car has been properly maintained.  I'll clean that off as best as possible and re-grease.
