Bahama Yellow?
« on: Monday,November 18, 2013, 05:44:14 PM »
The Europa I'm shortly to take delivery of was originally paint code L010 "Bahama Yellow" (it's currently white). Googling around, I see a variety of shades of yellow called Bahama Yellow, so I'm unsure what is correct. Does anyone have a photo of an original Bahama Yellow Europa?

Thanks!
Julian

Julian,

here is a picture of an original paint Bahama Yellow on a Elan Plus 2.  It was my car until I (like an idiot) sold it to a fellow in Vancouver Canada.
It took a while for me to warm up to the color, now I like it.

Many manufactures used similar colors under a different name, such as Porsche, British Leyland (MG, Triumph etc.), Chrysler, Fiat and Aston Martin.
But I found the Lotus pick to be a little richer in hue.  That was one of the reasons I considered bidding on your car......the original color.

That's a very good color - it has a definite early 70s feel to it.

Thanks for posting the photos - much clearer than the one on the paint color code page (which has an overall yellowish hue!).

I'm a long way off deciding whether I'll re-paint the car :-\ It will depend on what other needs it has, which I'm very unsure of at the moment, as it hasn't been delivered (should be here on Thursday ABW).
