everything fine And you are right that the early cars are quite rare over here and even more in the UK as they were never sold there officially. Only recently the UK Lotus community started to take notice of those very special and different Europas.

If you should need the correct tail panel I made a mold from my S1A of the section needed to replace the later section that was grafted on to yours.

that's a very interesting offer and I will tell my brother about it. We discussed already to either take a mold from my S1 or to buy such a section from Banks in the UK.

If that VIN number (460161) is correct, then the rear portion of the car has been cut off and replaced with a later rear end (possibly from an S2). That VIN number indicates an S1 and the tail lights would indicate an S1b. So something is amiss somewhere.

I know this car and it is an S1 1966 model not a 69 as registered so parts are hard to come by
