Although it may be pricy, can it be done?  would we have 5 forward and one reverse?

I believe you will go backwards very quickly.  The A110's were rear engined, not mid engined like the Europa, so you'd end up with 5 in reverse.  Unless you inverted the gearbox, but that means a whole bunch of other issues.

  Thanks Roddy,
This picture threw me off.
I thought it had been discussed.

The exhaust manifold is a bit misleading, it points forward so that they could fit a turbo.  There's a pic of the set up here:  https://www.motorpunk.co.uk/features/spotted-renault-5-alpine-turbo/

Edit:  If you were referring to the mid-engine Renault 5 Turbo, then yes that gearbox should work. But I'm guessing finding one would be difficult, not to mention expensive.

It is possible to fit the gears from a A110 365 into a Lotus 365.  You would use the Lotus ring and pinion gears.  You would end up with a close ratio 5spd that would be quite "buzzy" on the highway.

Yes that’s the one I was referring to, the alpine 5 turbo.
It was just another option I was looking for. I pulled up some prices on eBay between $ 4-7K for a 5 speed. All in Hungary

Still go very fast in reverse.  The gearbox from the R5 Turbo would work (369).  The normal 369 (30TX) faced the wrong way too but they did a special ring and pinion for the R5T.  Good luck finding one!

I’ll save it to google search and run it .  I’ll also send a message to the eBay seller your info on what to look for and looked on numerous Renault sites.  Not that I need it but ,   You never know.
Some people just want to get rid of things sometimes. A waste of time,  probably but when I get down time during babysitting the grandkids 😂🥱
Another search clutch disc and pressure plate vendors, I may have one in Italy, France and Japan at a much better price point.

I went for a ride in one of those Renault 5 Alpine turbos in the mid 90s in Germany in the mountains in the dark! It was very memorable! Jochen had the boost bumped up, tires that were wider than the numbers on the side walls (something about you couldn’t have tires wider than oem), he said it was some special edition that came with a roll cage and stuff but I can find no reference to that online. Jochen also owned  one of the mighty mid engined R5/turbos but it was in storage. Was a very neat little car!
The more I do the more I find I need to do....remember your ABC’s …anything but chinesium!

Careful, here, D'man.

Your pics in Reply #2 and Reply #9 show the smaller capacity 'Sierra' engine – not the same as an 821/807 type block.

The Renault 369 gearbox is a larger beast within the UN1 family and won't bolt up to our commonly used bell housings for the 821/807 or a TCS bell housing. Note the straight vertical sides where the gearbox bolts to the bell housing.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I suspect the 369 was never bolted to the smaller 821/807 engines in an OEM production sense.
