Europa Vacuum at Hilton Head

Well, I wasn't going to attend the Concours D'Elegance that took place this weekend at Port Royal on Hilton Head Island, but was shanghaied by friends and spent the last 2 days wandering the grounds drooling over 80% of the field.  Other than an upstate dealer's display of 2 new cars, the field was devoid of the Lotus Mark until Sunday, when a lonely Elan appeared, it's bonnet partly opened as if it was stifling yawn for lack of company.  Plenty of Porches and Ferraris (the show was overrun with Porches), plus a healthy number of Jaguars MGs, (TCs, TDs, PA, and a 1933 L1) Sunbeams, TVRs, and every other British Mark. But no, zero, nada, zip Europas.

I'll need my car on the road by next September to make it to LOG 34 in Ashville, NC, so as I left the Port Royal Clubhouse, I made the decision to enter next year's Concours and defend the Europa's honor.  I'll start stocking up on wax.
Yes, it's work...   No, I don't mind it.
