Several people made comments that it was worth more than $31,000. I agree. It will be interesting to see what the S2 brings. So far, the highest price for an S2 on BaT is $27,850.

Bad paint but I like that it has CV joints in the rear!

Considering how many Elans, Esprits, Elises, Exiges, Europas plus miscellaneous other Lotus that regularly show up on BAT, Lotus seems to have a strong presence on that auction site. And all across the board, all Lotus seem to be going up in price. The Elan had already escalated in value; maybe that's why one occasionally goes for a lower than expected price, especially with so many for sale in a short period of time.

This Europa is a "nice" car.  An amazing, to the nines, perfect restoration?  I don't think so.  A great survivor?  Not that either.  The interior is "fine" but not excellent, nor even correct.  The body is "good" but has the usual imperfections that will cost a fortune to rectify.  I would say a truly excellent driver but not a top dollar car.

May I be proven wrong and the owner soon be smoking cigars on a tropical beach surrounded by sweet young things of the gender of their choosing.

It has been stuck at $16,000 for the last couple of days with a few hours left.  Considering what the car sold for at Mecum, I would be surprised if the car makes the reserve price.

The last hour will tell the tale but I agree, I would have expected a little movement off of $16,000 before now.
