I rebuilt the very same carb back in the day.
If you have spare time, it's something you can do yourself but cleanliness is next to godliness.
I took the carb apart and sat each section separately in a Pinesol solution and heated it then let the components soak for 24 hrs.
I then rinsed and cleaned each section with compressed air using a set of carb cleaning brushes(get these of of Ebay).
I did that twice per section of carb.
The carb kit went in and it ran like new.
If you don't have the time(or the inclination) send it out for cleaning.
Funny how life works but in my travels back then (off shore contracts) I saw a Hermes kit for sale that someone was replacing as they had found a R17 engine for their Europa.
I put that on(45 Weber and headers but not the new cam) and the performance difference was nite vs day.
