No, it did not sell......yet !
good offer/negotiations going on with California contact who was broker/buyer for a connection in Germany, but before we could come to agreement, they found another one instead.
no hurry, no rush, it will go to the right home in the right time.

thanks Glen!
I had a guy on Ebay question the car's originality saying the VIN indicates it should be a Special, and as a Special, should have a 5 speed trans.  He continued saying the dash was wrong.    I disagreed with him and suggested he do his research and ask questions of this forum for the experts to chime in.   Obviously not all Specials were equipped with 5-speeds.   The dash is the same I've had in my JPS Europas of the same 1973 model year, so I don't know where this guy was coming from.
I admit and make note the engine is not matching numbers, but all else about the car appears quite correct and original to me.   Oh yes, and some obvious mods such as the electronic ignition, adjustable shocks, and replacement brake boosters from Lockheed.
If only cars could talk and explain their own history!  :)

As someone once said on the Internet many years ago, "It doesn't take all kinds; there just are all kinds."

Only a handful of non-JPS Specials built in 1972 came with 5 speeds.  Most of the original 5 speeds built were allocated for the JPS and then slowly trickled down to the other Specials until supply could be met.  Then 5 speeds became more readily available for non-JPS cars.  It was never standard on the Special but an extra cost option. Your dash of course is exactly the same as my TCS dash. But only Fed-spec Specials got the new dash. UK Specials kept the same dash as the TC.  I am not sure about the ROW Specials. 1972 "production year" Specials like yours are fairly rare considering that about half of the early ones built were all JPS.

I just checked on the Europa Registry. ROW (Q) Specials did not get the new dash either, just the North American cars.  I guess if we couldn't get the Euro horsepower, we had to have a consolation prize: a "new dash."
