Engine cover grills
« on: Saturday,August 24, 2019, 06:27:04 PM »
Hi Guyz,  I am wondering what holds the rear engine cover grills in place?  Looks like glue.  I want to remove them and put them lightly on a wire to remove the rust and then spray them with a galvanized paint.  What is the best way to remove and then replace them?

I would use silicone glue. It is resistant to heat from the exhaust manifold.

With S1s they are held in place with screws.  Hi assume the S2 is similar.  Dunno about the TC/S.

Correct, S2 grilles are also held in with screws. I assumed he had a TC since he asked but I might have been rash.

Removing them from a TC might best be done with a putty knife.

Hi, Sorry it is a TCS, but I don't see any fasteners.  I want to remove, clean, and repaint them with a galvanized spray paint.  Before I start hacking away, I thought I would check with the brain trust so I might do it right the first time.

Yep - glued on the TCS - black silicon would work best.
