Got the hemi back
« on: Sunday,November 18, 2018, 04:12:19 PM »
Made the trip to Montreal. The 843 is a work of art. Michel did a fantastic job. It’s built to the A110 Alpine specs. He figures in the 150’s for hp. Looking forward to mounting it in the chassis. I have to source dual Weber 40 dcoe’s, engine mounts and a 336 gear box.

Runningwild,
It looks great. Hope you have a speedy install and stay warm in that garage.
That was some road trip, how long did it take?

Congratulations on your new motor! It looks a beauty and sounds like it will work really well in your car! Please let us know how the installation goes and how well it runs (and please include pictures)!

Always exciting to pick up your engine from the Engine builder.  If the engine is going to sit for a while make sure you spray oil in the cylinders and hand crank the engine every month.

The trip was only4 hours each way.  Only a little snow but lots of wind.  I’m done for the year. I’ll get everything going again in the spring. US Customs was not a problem. Originally I had brought up 2 motors a transmission and boxes of parts.

Looks good. Usually the higher output crossflows run 45DCOEs

John. Michel recommenced the 40’s.  Not sure why but He will be tuning it so I’ll let him set up everything. Tom

He would know.  He builds lots of crossflows.  I went with 40 Dells myself as well.

I also just got my engine back from Michelle at Alpine America. I think I saw your engine there when I was picking up mine. He does outstanding work. He was very insistent that I should use Weber DCOE 40s. Picked mine up first week of November. I’m just getting it running now. The car just moved under it’s own power yesterday for the first time in 27 years and 3 owners.

Very nice! Good looking mill. :beerchug:
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.
