Torque on rear axles (Tool)

Over the years I have read about the torque on the rear axle nuts being tuff to accomplish with the Europa.  Some are using long bars to get the leverage but not knowing the lbs per inch they are applying.

You guys probably know this but I thought for some that don't it may be helpful.

Torque multiplier tool.  Been using mine for years when doing Porsche 356's.  "The little cars" had a big torque number on the castle nuts and I found this the only way to be accurate.  Also good  in removing the nut.  Picture later if interested.

What does the tool look like?

Joe, how is this?  Multiplies three times to the upside.  I use my torque wrench, the torque is tripled with this tool.  I think I paid around three hundred for it but after a few uses it paid for itself vs. mechanics/shop prices to have it done.

Hi Mike --I use 250 foot pounds on the rear axle nut and some blue loc tite same as the vee a 1/2 torque wrench is  just fine for that ,I have broken gland nuts and stripped treads with out  using it relying on a 3/4 breaker bar and a long pipe  . It took a while to figure out where all the over steer was comming from  so I include a rear axle nut  check in my  monthly  sevice  --ed --
