first drive
« on: Saturday,June 09, 2018, 10:56:17 AM »
Been out for the first shake down run probably for 35 years after the 4 year rebuild.
a few issues of which oil is is the main issue.
my temp gauge runs up to the 100 c marker but stable and no significant pressure in water system. I can take off the coolant cap. so i suspect its just the gauges. however i seem to get some smoking when hot from the exhaust system.
BUT getting oil leaks everywhere. engine and gearbox.
Both driveshaft seals are leaking as oils is being thrown off the shafts. both new seals.
rear engine massive leak so sump pan or rear seal have to look at.
will check out the engine breather system again too as smoking and leaks could be linked.
Engine did sound sooo sweet and a lovely howl when you get to 4k ,but not pushed the engine yet.

Looks Great! Keep the faith on getting all the leaks resolved and take your time.  I had to pull the engine in my S4 twice to resolve the oil leaks.
