Renault Fuego Turbo 1982

I just found a reneault Fuego turbo with 5 speed in my area
It as 75,000 kilos it needs restoration but mechanical is in good shape
I didn’t see it yet but would this be the ng3 tranny and could this combo fit in a europa
I know it needs new engine and tranny support in the pictures it look like the engine  is in front of the tranny

I don't know about the engine though I suspect that with enough time, creativity, fabrication, and motivation, it could be done. The tranny is an NG3 and would mate up with any Lotus bell housing ( though, I don't know if the length of the input shaft is an issue. Depending on the the frame there are some modifications required. Yes, it will work as a package.  But you will need to modify the engine to suit as well as what BDA mentions above.  As it sits, the exhaust manifold and turbo will not clear the Europa chassis.  Most people convert the FI turbo engine to normally aspirated with carbs.  This means new pistons, reground cam, carbs, etc, etc.  It's a fair amount of work.  I did mine with an R17G engine because I want it to be modified in a way that might have been done in period.  If you are just looking for more power, fitting a newer Toyota or Ford engine would probably be a cheaper and easier way to get there.  Remember though, the cheapest and easiest way forward is to keep it stock.  In the long run, it will also be worth more stock as well.  Not trying to discourage you, I didn't stay stock myself, just making you aware of the minuses as well.

If the tranny is  ng3 that’s great as for the engine
It’s probably a A7L   It’s fuel injected turbo
I have a a 1970 s2 fed type 65
With original wedge engine but when I bought my car it came with a spare
A7L with twin delortos ported and polished
It’s just I have a friend who as a early europa as the 336 tranny  but he as the 1.5 engine which is shot so it could be a good deal for him if  the price is right
It’s just I didn’t see anyone using this complete setup with the fuel injection and turbo and I was wandering why I know there’s some fabrication but it’s mostly plumbing
And yes I like to have spare parts!!

Oups forgot to write my europa is stock all original parts
Original wedge engine  when I get into it it’s like travelling back in time
It’s just I got this beautiful engine A7L with twin delortos and a nice aluminium valve cover
I just wish I did not get it with the car it’s begging me to go in
But I’m gonna keep it as a spare

Back in the day, I’m sure there were a few done up keeping the OEM fuel injection.  D-jet was an “ok” system but it had lots of connections and contacts, and no easy diagnostics.  I’m sure any running these days will have been converted to carbs.

HI:I trouble shot a D-T system(450 Mercedes) with this other fellow and we referred to:

I fix old pinball( electromech and early board ones, another hobby to infuriate the wife) so it wasn't as bad as I had prepared myself for.

Now the 16TS that I have came initially with the D-T system but now has a custom intake manifold with two 40 Webers.
My Europa presently has the hopped up 1470(single 45 Side-draft and headers) and since I only have 32K on the car I will be waiting a while to do the 16TS transplant.
The car has been in ventilated storage for 15 years (engine oiled then turned over 2 times a year) so I am in no hurry to do the mod even though it is one of the easier ones out there for all the reasons that have been previously mentioned.

Retirement has given me the luxury of time,so who knows.

I own a 71 S2 with a full turbo fuego swap. It is in terrible shape and I have not even attempted to disassemble it. Add it to the list of projects....
