rite way for thermosat

Hi, just saw this pic of engine, is the thermostat wrong?  or did I put mine in backwards?  C   attached

Fuzzy, small photo but that looks like the right way.  The brass container with the wax pellet goes towards the water pump.

Mike, the original thermostat has an air bleeder hole that is to be put at the top of the thermostat. This allows the block to be purged of air. Make sure that the one you install also has this hole. I drilled a small hole in the one I installed.
