Replacing the window runner felt - S2
« on: Sunday,October 16, 2016, 11:24:21 PM »
Had the drivers window stop short of closed (up).
Having a look, the felt in the vertical runner has gotten loose and had migrated up the aluminium runner/channel a bit, bunching up and causing the window to nip up.
I can pull it back down, but the felt itself doesn't appear to have anything to hold it captive, or do I have a clip of some sort missing?

I see a couple of clips mentioned on the Banks sites, is this what I'm missing?
They look more like they below to the horizontal seal....?

Those clips look more like the ones used to hold the horizontal strips, certainly when I did the Elan this year I used something very similar.  From what you describe I'm assuming it's the felt runner inside the aluminium "U" channel that's rucking up ? I don't recall clips with that assembly but it is a very long time since I looked a the Europa so I could easily have forgotten.

My money would be on the window runner being glued in place on the "U" channel though.

Yup, those clips are for the horizontal for window "wipe" seals.  The window channel seal just pops into place.  It's not just felt, there is a rubber backing.  Perhaps a PO used just felt in the past?
