Europa paint detailing as per OEM
« on: Saturday,July 30, 2016, 05:47:44 PM »
My Europa went to the painters today and I just need to confirm the detailing for where to paint colour and black. Please let me know if I am correct:
1. Door jams on body- colour
2. Inboard (inside surfaces) of door  - black (Matt or gloss??)
3. Wheel arch inner - colour
4. Spare wheel and engine compartment - black (Matt)
5. Interior - leave original incase repairs or work is required in future
6. Underside which touches the chassis frame - black- same as compartments

Have I missed anything???

Thanks in advance for any clarity.

These are my memories of my TC when new (subject to a bad memory). I'm not as familiar with the S2s, but I think I know how they're supposed to be painted. If I'm wrong, hopefully someone will correct me:

  • right
  • I think it was more likely satin black
  • The fiberglass part of the wheel arches were color. The "cardboard" pieces that kept trash from going into the hinge area or the area in front of the rear wheels were black - the color of those pieces.
  • right
  • The areas around the windows were satin black (#2). I think anything else that wasn't covered (and I'm not sure anything else wasn't covered) was color.
  • On a TC, the area under the metal flake silver panels under the door was flat black. For S2s, it's all color.
