Replacement Metal Oil Drain Tube Question

I have a 72 TC which is in a body-off restoration, albeit a very slow one.

I am purchasing a replacement Aluminum Oil Drain Tube in lieu of the stock rubber one.
My question is I have a 701M block (engine is still in car) and I am told the length required for the 701M may be different, compared to a 711M.  The unit I am purchasing is designed for a 711M, so the question is will it work on my 701M block or should I measure my block and wait for a redesigned unit?

Any help would be appreciated.

I thought those replacement tubes were threaded and adjustable to facilitate installation and variances in castings etc.?

Since your new drain tube is aluminum, it’s going to have to be adjustable or you’d never fit it without taking the head off. Also, I’m sure the difference in deck heights between the two blocks is in tens of thousandths rather than quarter inches so I would think the adjustment in the tube would be plenty.

If you’re really worried, maybe a call to the vendor is in order.

Where did you get the drain tube? I thought no one was making them.
