could be any number of things wrong. I send my stuff out to the pros as I don't know how (nor do I care to learn).
One of the gear teeth could be broken, needs a good cleaning and oiling, the gears are plain worn out. Most are plastic/nylon.
I sent my last set of gauges from a 356 to the guys in Hollywood. For the life of me could not figure out how the chrome trim ring came off. It came back looking like new and all worked perfect.
Look at it like a wind up watch.......I don't know how to do those either.
