anyone recognize this part ??
« on: Saturday,March 04, 2023, 07:29:22 AM »
:newhere: As I bought one of my TC:s partly "in boxes" I have a bracket that I cannot place.

It has been mounted somewhere in the enginge compartment and has been galvanized together with other brackets (that I can identify  :pirate:)

The car is a UK spec 1972 Twincam with a 352 gearbox.

There is also a remote possibility that there has been a mixup and this part really belongs to some other project from the seller...

Looks as though it is part of the gear linkage assembly bolted to the chassis

It doesn’t look like any Europa part I’ve seen. When my car was new, it had a 365 which uses a similar shift linkage. It sounds like it’s something the DPO put on.

It doesnt look like a part on my 74 Special (with a 365 gearbox) gear Iinkage, which is fundamentally the same as a 352 linkage I believe. The only part that bolts to the chassis is the gear lever, everything else bolts to the clutch housing or the selector shaft at the back of the gearbox.

I don't recognise the part from mine. Could it me a throttle/choke/clutch cable mounting that has been "improved/redesigned" by a previous owner?

Not exactly the same but it appears to be similar to the part that I used to move the clutch cable attachment from the chassis to the engine block.

Not exactly the same but, this is what I thought it could be part of. This is the gear shift rocker assembly on my Banks modded NG1 transmission

It is pointing in the wrong direction for the block mounted clutch cable bracket.

I have never seem anything like that in the 7 that I have rebuilt.
