Something leaked

Well I knew it wasn’t going to last everything was working fine on the Europa and then I noticed the driver side was wet but couldn’t figure out where it comes from could be antifreeze but it’s dry where the pipes are or brake fluid

Inspect your firewall cover material below the 90 bend in the coolant tube down to the frame.  Mine sprung a leak at that point, got sucked down through the cloth until it dripped out the bottom.  The wind from going down the road splashed it all over the bottom of the motor. Took a while to locate the leak

Taste it on your tongue.  Brake fluid is sharp and tart.  Coolant is sweet and sickly.  Don’t swallow and rinse thoroughly!

It’s only in the front T section drivers side only the rad is on the other side and the tunnel is dry inside it’s only wet in that area inside and out
I’m going to try to dry it out and let it run for a while to see if it gets wet again but it’s around the brake master but looks little le antifreeze but could be brake fluid still not sure

Put paper towels under the lotus and the leak was under the master
even had a taste of it to make sure so next project rebuild master cylinder
Seems to leak from around the seals around the shaft
 Is there a rebuild kit and is the master from triumph

TC or S2? Take a picture of the MC.

Never mind, I think you have a S2. I recommend replacing with a Spitfire MC You'll have to route new brake lines to the MC but on a S2 relatively easy to do.

the .05" inch difference between the Lotus MC and the Triumph Spit MC won't matter.  And if if feels different, you can always change the pad compound (stock, greenstuff, mintex...) to change the feel.  I'm still running the original MC in a TC that has had its boosters extracted, and except for changing the front pads out to greenstuff, it stops just fine. 

But, if you are looking for the spitfire replacement, Moss has them:

The S2 use a 0.7" bore same as the cylinders Bryan posted.  I highly recommend going with the TRW one.  They are very well made.  Never had an issue over 30+ years of installing them.

Although that's shown as the Spitfire replacement the inlets are different from the one I used, it looks to have a bolt on reservoir whereas the one I used had a push fit. 

I know the Federal cars have a different arrangement for the reservoir but just looking at the image on the Moss Motors website I wonder how much capacity you'd have for the rear compartment if you keep the reservoir shown ? (due to the angle of mounting being different on our cars from the Spit/GT6 cars)

The one I used is shown here http://www.lotuseuropa.org/LotusForum/index.php?topic=138.msg788#msg788  and I used a remote reservoir with 90 deg push in fittings from the Fiat X19 IIRC.

I don't have it fitted now because I've changed the brake system but it did work very well on the standard brakes. I still have one fitted to the Elan and it's fine without a servo.

The large cap MCs looks to have the reservoir mount similar to the Europas, screws on the bottom mount to secure the reservoir. The Moss Motorss link provided by Bryan shows the large cap  TRW Mc for the Spitfire. At the time I wrote my article, TRW did not offer the Spitfire MC in the 0.70" with the large cap, only the small cap version. I wonder why the large cap version is now available.

Brian, if you use the small cap version of the Spitfire MC, I believe you'll lose less capacity compared to the large cap.
