Clutch shaft spline & throwout bearing fork
« on: Monday,June 27, 2022, 10:44:32 AM »

Getting ready to re-fit my gearbox.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the correct grease to use on the clutch spline shaft and the bearing fork pivots in the
bell housing?

I always used to use high temp CV joint grease (black/graphite grease I think) But getting a bit paranoid about using the best
stuff available nowadays.

Thanks.

CV joint grease is formulated to flow readily at low temperatures.  On a spline or clutch fork, it would be more likely to be flung or drip places you do not want it to go to.  I think a general purpose grease would be a better choice.

After a bit more research I found out that this is the stuff to use.

Grease MoS2 are high quality lithium multipurpose and EP greases fortified with micronized molybdenum disulphide for enhanced extreme pressure and anti seize properties.
They contain a synergistic blend of additives and performance boosters for optimum performance.
