I must be of the few who prefer the Renault powered cars and their body shell with the full height buttresses!

And me, the TC looks 1/2 finished with its short buttresses, why bother with a TC engine when the Gordini head can easily put you on a par or beyond, mind as a STD Renault engined car it was fairly pedestrian, my Cooper S was far faster in a straight line & around corners at 1st.

It's a matter of personal taste.  Myself?  I like the early style body best.

A Goldilocks exercise?

The S1 is the lightest and purist form with probably the fewest creature comforts.
The TC/TCS is heaviest but more comfortable that all prior.
The S2 is perhaps the Goldilocks option . . . just right.  ;D

I don’t really “understand” S2s, (why would you want one of those when you could have a TC?)

Whoa! I thought we agreed we wouldn't talk about religion or politics!?!?  ;)

Yeah, I might have stepped into both with that one!  :)

Keep in mind I've evolved in my thinking and have come to appreciate the S2 (though I still prefer the TC)! 8)

I really would not have paid as much for a TC in the same condition as my S2-TS project.
Rumors of TC engines costing $10K for a proper rebuild stop me cold.
And I do prefer the S2 body.

I always wanted a s2, possibly s1 but had to settle for my tcs as I couldn't find the right car at the right price.

We are all lucky to own / drive these wonderful, unique pieces of automotive history.  Personal taste is "personal". What a boring World this would be if were all were forced to have only one option.

Nobody has to settle!

I have all 3 styles :) and none of them work in the true Europa fashion!

Its a good thing too or I would be tempted to sell mine!!!
