WOW! Is not a compliment for this one.
Very strange ad and I do not understand how feeBay is letting them post it in the current form.
Another seller sneering at and belittling the Renault engine. Yah, like a cast iron Pinto is the real wonder of engineering!
Oh, and a modified VW Beetle trans, sure to have the best possible ratios. /S

Agree the listing is crazy.  Agree also that the Renault engine is a gem.

But...

2.0L "Pinto" engines are really, really good and there has been a ton of development on them.  I disagree with the listing in that the numbers they list won't make for a steetable engine.  Same with the transaxle.  Tons and tons of development on VW transaxles.  There are lots and lots of parts available.  You could pretty much build any ratios or final drive you could possibly want.

I saw nothing in the ad to indicate that the VW ratios have been altered.
I've used the tall, pig-heavy, cast iron, Pinto engines in builds before.
This seller is asking Ferrari prices for very mundane components.
