Space saver wheel for 1973 Europa Special
« on: Thursday,December 03, 2020, 06:18:10 AM »
Hi
I wonder if someone can send me the detailed specifications of the space saver wheel which unfortunately is missing, so I can track down something similar to replace it.

Thanks in advance for the help
John

 :Welcome: John!!

Europa did not come with a space saver spare. The spare for the Specials with alloy wheels was an alloy wheel with a front tire (175/70-13) mounted.

Most significant crash attenuation device on the car. Much better than the bag of meat used to protect the backbone in a side impact....left side in the US, right side in UK.  8)

"bag of meat!" I resemble that remark!

It's a tough job but somebody has to do it!

S2s had a 4.5j x 13 steel wheel fitted in the front which takes a little time to get it out, I used to let the air out of it to fit it & carried an electric pump.
