JB I have had a couple of TC engines with Weber heads on them on this stand and rotated to remove the oil pans to check rod and crank bearings. All that being said I wouldn’t say it was perfectly stable but I wasn’t worried.

Agreed having a drip pan on the bottom of the engine stand is a must have.

Absolutely.  The concern was raised and I'm just pointing out when it would be most likely to tip if it has a narrow base on the front.  Properly supporting the engine as it is turned will keep it upright.

I'd still be inclined to take the pan off while the engine was upright just to contain any mess.
