Glued windshield how to?
« on: Thursday,May 30, 2019, 01:53:49 PM »
Im getting ready to install the windshield
It’s an s2 1970 Renault engined
I have the windshield and the chrome plastic
moldings
I heard someone mention butyl wich is like two sided tape
and was told put butyl in the molding then slide the molding aroud the
windshield
Put some primer on the body opening and then put the  glue on body
Then deposit the assembly in its spot
Is this right if so what type of glue

If you search there's a fair bit of discussion of this here, and on the Yahoo list knowledgebase.  Here's a good message to start with.

And as mentioned there's some more detail on Bryan Boyle's website

Look under 693R/Restoration Journal/Page 20
