New rear upright/bearing housings
« on: Monday,January 07, 2019, 04:42:55 PM »
Decided to have a plan.
Stocked up on parts so that the next time I freshen up the uni joints for the season I will also be renewing pretty much everything outboard of the output shafts.
This includes shiny new castings from our friend Richard.
Given the age of the originals and some past damage from spun bearings it will be time.

wow, those look amazing.  Are they brand new castings that Richard has commissioned, or old Lotus stock ?

I looked on Richard's site and didn't see them. Can you give us some details?

Interesting! I had no idea these were available. This is very good to know.
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

They are listed in the parts store pages, but without a price (listed as 'Call').
Not sure how many Richard is having made, I think a small initial batch to see how they go.
Everyone with a Europa should possibly order a set if they plan on keeping their car.
Probably better than original parts.
I won't be assembling for a while but once I get around to it I'll post again I'm sure.
