I am ditching the P brake all together. Reason is I am using an MR2 hub. I could use the stock caliper with p brake but the piston area is not enough to give a decent pedal pressure. I ended up using a large bore Wilwood caliper  front and rear with balance bar. Pedal feel is perfect. I used a hydraulic lock in the past on a 240Z with front and rear Wilwoods. They bled down too quickly to be reliable. I just left it in gear when parked.

my steering column has no strap either- mabe that's a later model thing, or that my project is jumble of non original parts.
are you relocating a p-brake, hydro lock, or just gonna figure it out later?
