Timing Chain Tensioner Needed
« on: Sunday,May 20, 2018, 05:43:36 AM »
659R’s Timing chain tensioner is no more. The housing is there and the adjustment thingie appears to be OK (photo), but the plunger, spring and whatever else was in there are kaput.   I’ve been unable to source a replacement or the missing parts over the weekend and have the feeling this is one of the R16’s less requested items.  If anyone knows where to get, or has one, I’d appreciate info on it.

Thanks in advance.

Mecaparts  MP0503

It's a complete kit which I would recommend fitting.

Thanks for the info JB. I’ve been attempting to order it, but so far unable to get past the “place in cart” stage.  All but one of the links down here are pdf format and the one that isn’t doesn’t have but the page showing it.  Maybe something’s being lost in the translation or I’m just too much of an old white guy to figure it out.  I’ll keep trying, but in the mean time I’m looking at others with the same configuration who’s internal working parts may be the same.  Maybe I can switch them to the R16 housing that still appears to be serviceable.

Bank's last them as well:

http://www.parts.banks-europa.co.uk/orders_frame.htm

Email him your request and details (address, etc) but then call him directly to confirm and place the order.  He is not good with email alone.

This site probably has them as well:

https://www.renault12shop.com/

https://www.renault16shop.com/

They are on holiday right now but will be open again soon.

Thanks, I’ll get them.   Waiting for oil pan sealer to arrive so I have time to remove the cover and see what happened.
