Thanks Steve. I did eventually find the right words to plug into the
KB. The answer appears to be to use the upper position. Those are the
holes I'd previously been using, but this was the second time I've had
the gearbox out. I marked the holes but didn't mark which way up the
pad went and then started to wonder.
If you put the pad into the frame upside-down it would make quite a
difference to the height of the rear of the gearbox, about 32 mm,
because the mounting studs are not in the centre of the bracket and
are also offset with respect to the midpoint of the four holes. It
seems to me that raising the back of the gearbox would pull the bottom
of the wheels in, decreasing negative camber. Is that right?
