Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself and my recently purchased Lotus.

0167R is a Series 2 Federal that I saw advertised on FB. I fortunately got to view the car while on a work trip and, finally, 0167R is back in Blighty.

I’m based near Swindon, and have been a long-time owner of a Westfield XI - currently looking after the XI forum at https://www.westfield-eleven.org/forum/

This is my first Lotus, and the small car, light-weight aspect of the Europa really appeals.  I’m hoping to get the car roadworthy initially. Any resto will be down the line when I have a little more time for cars rather than tiny kids!

Daft questions to follow - thank you all in advance for your patience.

Cheers

Jon

 :Welcome:  jonclancy!!!

Congratulations on your new baby (and your "tiny kids"!)!!

I think we all tolerate "daft questions" around here pretty well so let the fly! There are some very knowledgeable S2 owners here who be glad to answer them! (Being a TC owner and having been humbled in my ignorance of the many ways the S2 and TCs differ, I'm not likely to be an answerer!  ;D )

Why don't you post some pictures when you get a chance. The forum has a restriction on the size of attached files so quite often pictures have to be resized. Here is one method: https://www.lotuseuropa.org/LotusForum/index.php?topic=1379.0. Another is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_55eg00H-w.

 :Welcome:
 Jon
Glad to hear about your new purchase. Your decision to drive the car first before a makeover is a wise decision.
You will be in good hands here but we like pictures. I normally take a picture and email them to me changing the size below the the 100 mg size limit. Then open and save those pictures to your photo album were you can direct your attachment to post here.

Welcome to the forum, Jon. Congrats on your first Lotus, though the Westfield XI sounds pretty cool, too. While appeasing our thirst for Europa photos, a snap of the XI won't go amiss, either. Best of luck with your Lotus. Cheers  :beerchug:
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

Jon,
Congrats on the purchase and nice to see you on this forum.  I haven't visited nor posted on the XI forum in years (sold my Eleven rep just before picking up a Europa).

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for your kind welcome to the forum! I will indeed post a pic of 0167R when I get over there. In the meantime here is a small pic of my XI. The two are typically Chapman. Your Eleven clone was much admired Rod. Fabulous work! Please do drop in sometime and say hello.

Cheers

Jon

Yes, that's a wicked little car. A lot of fun to drive, I imagine.

It is rather fun. Been to Classic Le Mans twice. I was at Combe briefly yesterday afternoon. one S2, two TCS and a Banks 47 were there among some other lovely cars. Had a chat with a very much owner of the S2. Maybe be there with mine next year. Running, not done.
