sad news...
« on: Thursday,May 04, 2017, 04:33:03 AM »
sad news as it seems that we have lost "Piper an"  :(

Derek had originally planned to put a Spyder chassis into his S2 but he sold the car sometime late last year.

I was browsing through ebay earlier this morning and found the following...

I noticed it too. I only joined the group as he was leaving but it is sad to see it turn out this way. My condolences to his family.

Hopefully someone will make use of the chassis and get to enjoy a Europa.

Regards,

Pete

I didn't want to hear that! I was hoping he get his second transplant and recover but I knew that was asking a lot. My condolences to his family, too.

Somebody will get a very nice frame. Hopefully he'll join the group and tell us about his car.

Sad news indeed. Very sorry to hear this. My deepest condolences to the family.

I hear in heaven that Lotus parts fit and the cars seldom leak. Rest in peace Mr. AN Piper.
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

Gee, that's bad news, the poor bloke really went through some hard times. Like BDA I was expecting him to pop up again after a second transplant.

I also saw the chassis but didn't put it together with Derek as I hadn't realised he'd sold his car. I remember him talking about it but must have missed the actual sale. Clearing out his garage is going to be hard on his family given his enthusiasm for his cars, let's just hope it goes quickly for them.
