Heater and choke queston
« on: Friday,December 16, 2016, 05:54:45 AM »
Hi all,

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

where could I find or what car are they from:

the heater control knob on the arm rest?
the lockable choke control knob
the small cable lock that attached the heater cable the heater valve on the engin.

Attached is a quick pic of the new toy  - needing a little TLC and  a new lic of paint.

Many thanks,

The "cable lock" is a cable trunnion and lock screw and is used on MGBs, various Triumphs (TR4, 5, 250 and 6).  Any British parts supplier will have it.  One place is British parts North West.  Where about in Canada are you located?

There is a parts cross reference here which may be useful:

http://www.lotus-europa.com/partsxref.html

I'm not sure which control cables a TC/S uses but you can check this illustrated catalog for a likely suspect and then use the part number to find the vehicle application:

https://www.angloparts.com/en/catalogues/show/57/british-parts-tools-accessories

PS: Download the pdf and go to pages 48 and 49.  Once you have the part number enter it in the search field here:

https://www.angloparts.com/en/dashboard

click on "view details" and it will give a list of vehicle applications you can use elsewhere.

Thanks for the picture, Europa73! Are those Compomotive wheels?

Wow! What a source for Brit car parts!!! They have a lot of parts that I would think would be hard to find - even a selection of wiper motors! I wonder if they have any that are faster than the stock motor... The one thing I'm disappointed about is there are no Lotus key fobs! Thanks, John!

The choke and heater cable knobs are of the style 083.798 on page 48. There is also an 8 piece knob kit that probably has what you want number 093.791 on page 76 of their catalog.

Many thanks for the response - much appreciated.

I am located in Toronto - much snow yesterday :-(

the wheels are 3 pice vintage HRE 505's. Lucky that all 4 are in mint condition just need a polish. Polishing will be done over winter.

I was unsure about them at first - but - now I like look they give the car.

Cheers,
