At the time I didn't even have a motorbike license so it was a case of riding in my mate's cars. I can remember steel wheels cut apart and bands welded in to make 5.5" "wide" wheels
but that's about it. I think one guy had a cortina engine which seemed to be the fastest or perhaps it was just the most reckless pilot !
