1973 Lotus Europa Twin Cam Special 5-Speed $19,500
Matching numbers 1973 Lotus Europa Twin Cam Special. Just out of a 15 year hibernation in a heated residential garage. All the fluids were changed and the following parts are NEW:
-Universal joints
-Rear wheel bearings
-Rear axle seals
-Rear bearing spacers
-Brake wheel cylinders
-Adjustable rear lower links
-Steering tie rods
-Front upper ball joints
-Rebuilt front trunnions.
The engine was rebuilt 35K miles ago. For the rebuild: engine assemblies were balanced, a baffled oil pan installed, silicon bronze valve guides installed, 0.040" over forged pistons and an aluminum flywheel installed. The engine emissions were removed from the car at some point prior to ownership. There is an electric fuel pump installed for quicker starting, a tubular exhaust header and an aftermarket free flowing exhaust system (from Dave Bean). There are K&N High Flow air filters on stock Stromberg carbs. The carbs are fitted with European metering needles (non-emission) for easier tuning and better performance.
Spax adjustable spring perch shocks are installed on all four corners of the suspension, making the ride height adjustable.
The interior is in very good condition, the seat insert vinyl has been recovered in a cooler cloth material. The wood dash has some cracking on the varnish, but still looks good.
Leaking brake boosters were bypassed (but left in place) and there is better pedal feel now.
The engine starts right up and idles smoothly with good oil pressure and has good power.
Great looking black (original color) paint.
Runs and drives great.
The spare is included, it is just not in the car.
