I'm not sure but I seem to be missing an attachment to the engine for the clutch cable:

Has something broken here? I can't tell from the online manual whether there should be a bracket that holds the cable in place, or not.
Thanks!

i hope you are not missing anything, 'cause mine looks exactly the same.
i have no functional experience with it yet, however.

There should be a bracket with a stop to hold the outer cable. On the TC this is bolted near the front of the engine block in the original Ford generator holding bracket bolt holes.

mine just has that widget and adjusting nut at the clutch arm. the cable housing at that end stops at the right engine mount(that has a hole in it).
is this how yours is jjbunn?

Here's a closer view of mine: the red circle marks where it seems to me there should be a bracket holding the clutch cable sleeve, but I may be wrong.

Anyone have a photo of the bracket on an S2?
Thanks!

not the best pictures........, and also not functional yet- but "looks" original to me.
i think where you have that red circle(how do you do that?) is too close to the action.

Thanks, rascott - I am encouraged, as yours looks like mine :D
I'm really enjoying your progress reports in the other thread - keep them up!

good to know what i have is not unique, thanks.
i find the workshop manual a bit sparse on detail, but the parts lists at rd enterprises quite helpful(+ good supplier).
i am getting pretty good looks at things all over this little toy- got it pretty bare.
i'm pleased the pictures helped. makes me look look like mabe i know what i'm talking about. don't be fooled- i guess a lot.
starting to reassemble things. i want to see if the clutch and gearbox work before i bother ordering a windscreen.
i like to hear of progress with your project.
seems you have a handle on it

For added assurance, both of my S2s clutch cable arrangement is identical to what your picture shows.
