Title: Hub cap removal ?

I have no idea how to remove the cap on the hub. It doesn't have the typical lip that you get behind and pry from.

Try tapping the hole for 10-32 or 10-24 thread. Screw a long bolt of the correct size into the hole and it should push the dust cap out. To make sure it works in the future, I think it's a good idea to tack a small nut of the right thread inside the cap so you don't have to rely on the threads in the cap next time. I mentioned this to Serge a while ago and he plans using a wood screw in a similar manner. I've never tried it but I'm sure it works and it is easier than tacking the nut in the cap!

A small hole in the middle, and screw in a self tapping screw, and this applies even pull all around, and the grease cover will come straight off.

The coarse screw worked on one side. On the other, the coarse screw just pulled out, went to a larger one and the same. Welded a nut on the end and it came right off.

Congratulations! I never understood the appeal of that design.
