FINALLY car is primed and ready to go.... to the painter, I'm not good enough to try that. Got rid of the side marker lamps and spent LOTS of time chasing pinholes. So it's completely primed and doors and both lids back on, it's off next week to turn red. Lest you all think I'm REALLY a slacker I'm also in the throes of getting a 23 Stanley Steamer back on the road since it was STRIPPED sometime in the '60s, you think Lotus parts are hard to find!! Having disassembled the doors completely I'm having second thoughts on the quote; "simplify and add lightness". Methinks something was lost in the translation from the Kings English to 'Merican, I think it goes; "simplify and add cheapness by using whatever you can find lying around" . MAN the window motor and regulator are heavy, the motor is a GM and was used in Series 1 XJ6's, I'm looking around for a light substitute. One part that really annoyed me was the spacer that lowers the gearshifter in the tunnel, block o' steel 3/4 in thick, aluminum was THAT costly?! It's alloy now Cheers ronp

Congratulations on a big milestone, Ron! :beerchug:
I always say there are two things that make my car look good - the paint and the interior and I didn't have much to do with either!
There certainly are a lot of cheap parts in a Europa, but I'm surprised as the number that are borrowed from higher priced cars like Jags.
