Title: Starting my rebuild on my wedge
Post by: califkid_66 on Saturday,March 22, 2025, 02:57:29 PM
Last autumn I lost compression on cylinder 1 and 2
cylinder 3 and 4 had 150 1 and 2 almost nothing so I put some oil in the cylinder and the compression was 150 on all cylinders so I figured broken compression rings
I removed the head  and yes it’s broken rings but no damages to the cylinder

Now my question is can I hone these cylinders they are not damaged I would change the gaskets and the ring keep the cylinders and pistons

I also noticed a lot of carbon build upon my valves any tricks to clean that up the head just needs clean up and valve seals

You'll have to measure your piston to liner clearance to see if can be honed.

Your valves look recessed to me but it hard to tell from photos.  I would get the head overhauled.

I’m taking it  apart so I can measure everything
Then I will order the parts accordingly
The only part that I’m not comfortable with is the paper gasket
On the liners I know how to do it but I think that will be the
hardest part for me

I have the special liner setting tool (from Peugeot).  Drop me a PM with your address and I'll send it your way.  Makes setting liner protrusion a doodle.
