Title: Europa Car Cover
Post by: HoraceM22 on Tuesday,October 29, 2024, 11:04:21 AM
I've been looking to get an indoor cover for my TCS for the winter whilst I do a engine rebuild, but haven't been able to find one that is the right shape, as well as the ridiculous price some of them charge, without admitting that they aren't correct, but are actually an S2 shape. However, after a bit more looking around I found this site in Germany. As they didn't actually do one for our cars, these sizes were for a Mazda MX5 and apart from the height, were within an inch or two.

https://www.walser-shop.co.uk

After a bit of checking and correspondence I decided to go ahead and order one of their
Car cover Indoor Stretch Plus size M black Article no.: 41050

This arrived today and I must say it looks and feels just the job. Soft, stretchy and less than £100 (as opposed to several hundred pounds quoted by a couple of companies).
Naturally, I have no connection with this company etc, etc. Just wanted to pass on this for anyone that might be interested.

That's a good looking cover. When I bought my car it came with a car cover that was designed for a car three times the size of the Europa. It was such a nuisance to use, and looked like hell when installed, so I binned it. I've been kind of keeping my eye out for a decent one since. Thanks for the heads-up.

Seeing it afresh this morning, I think it is just right for my purpose, i.e. indoor, smooth, good fit around the body and only a bit deep (it doesn't touch the ground) - AND their returns policy also reads well, so if you went ahead you've only got a bit of postage to lose at the most.

Hi

I thought car covers of any type can lead to microblistering of the fibreglass. Perhaps this is an old wives tale. I never cover my cars, I would rather have the dust!

All the best

I read your post and examined the pictures and was sold as I also have a Twin Cam Special.  The material was just what I was looking for.
Unfortunately, the cover I got didn’t fit anywhere near as well as yours. You got a 41050 and I got a 30840, the only difference being the color, anthracite versus black.  I posted pictures below for people to see.  Everything else about the cover was just what I wanted.
I contacted the factory inquiring about the size difference and they responded quickly but had no answers.  Since I’m in the states, shipping was almost $50 and I chose to not return it.  It did fit another car I have so I used it there.
Glad that yours worked out for you but I’m still looking.

Hi Footer,  could you not just order the same part number as mine,  or is the colour a must have?

Hi Horace,  As you suggest, I could have just ordered the same part number and presumably, gotten the same fit.  Color was not a deciding factor, I just liked the Anthracite , especially since the dimensions of both colors is listed as the same.  After receiving my cover, I wrote asking specifically about dimensional differences between yours and mine, listing the two part numbers.  I also asked if this  could be a quality control issue and sent them a copy of the Europa dimensions and pictures listed in the manual.
I was disappointed in their response.  They weren't interested in addressing any of my questions.  My top priorities were material, fit and price.  Except for the fit, the cover is good.
Glad for you since the fit looks to be quite good and you avoided the cross Atlantic shipping fee.
